It’s incredible to think of how this gem has borne witness to revolutions, royal intrigue, and shifting empires, yet it remains timelessly beautiful and captivating. Donated to the Smithsonian by Harry Winston in 1958, it is as much a historical artifact as it is a piece of natural wonder. Whenever I stand before the Hope Diamond, it feels less like an object and more like an ancient oracle, whispering secrets about power, ambition, and destiny.

The napes and lobes who wore them, and the moments in time they, too, witnessed. Within each of these moments we change, society changes. But they remain.
